As long as I can remember I have been intrigued by peoples' stories and the emotions intrinsic to them- their joy, pain, disappointment, love, excitement, fear, regret, all of it. I have also been fascinated by the transformation that can occur when people share these stories with someone who is present, open-hearted and truly not judgmental. The desire to reveal ourselves and be witnessed in the honesty of who we are and what our lives are about is profoundly healing and absolutely human.
Having been in my own therapy, I know personally the deep vulnerability, courage and strength that is called on to allow yourself to be seen and known by another.
I seek to treat my own clients with the same respect, curiosity and compassion that I have received on my own path of healing and growth. I love being a therapist and am honored get to know people so deeply.
Some of the topics I work with include grief, pregnancy loss, infertility, processing birth stories, and pregnancy & the postpartum period. I tend to work with people who are highly sensitive, creative, have strong self-judgments and hold the deep yet flawed belief that they are somehow defective. I have completed extensive trainings in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, Maternal Mental Health NOW, and the Seleni Institute.
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and hold a Master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I received extensive clinical training at Golden Gate Integral Counseling Center and the Marina Counseling Center before getting licensed and opening my private practice.
